Implementing secure reporting of sexual misconduct
This research arises from the political commitment of Chile to be part of the Regional Women Mediators Network of the Southern Cone, an initiative promoted by Argentina, which has a Federal Women Mediators with a gender perspective Network, following the international example of other Regional Women Mediators Network in the world. These networks aim to advance the Women, Peace and Security Agenda, which mainly advocates achieving sustainable peace by increasing the participation of women in peace processes and incorporating the gender approach in conflict resolution. In this context, and considering the threats to peace and security that we face as a country, for example, the Araucanía Conflict, this research asks: In what way could a Regional Network of Women Mediators contribute to the Araucanía Conflict? To answer this question, the political approach that has been given to the situation in Araucanía by the Chilean State is described, the Regional Networks of Women Mediators in the world and the network at the federal level in the Argentine case are characterized. and the progress that has been made to date in the formation of the Regional Network of Women Mediators of the Southern Cone is identified, which made possible to determine the contribution of this network to a conflict such as the one in the Araucanía. This contribution would be the formation of trained human capital by enhancing the capacity of women in mediation with a gender perspective; generating networks and instances of international cooperation to address the conflict; adding to the international community to be part of the construction and consolidation of peace in the area; and finally, guaranteeing that women are part of the peace process, which ensures greater sustainability of the agreements made according to existing international evidence....
