Abstractdc.description.abstractIn this paper we present a study of electrodeposited nanocrystalline rhenium and rhenium oxides by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The electrodeposition process was carried out using an alkaline aqueous electrolyte consisting of ammonium perrhenate dissolved in sodium hydroxide solution. The electrodeposited material showed a dendritic structure with no evidence of powder formation at the current density imposed on the system. TEM observations showed that metallic rhenium, rhenium (IV) oxide and rhenium (VI) oxide could coexist in the electrodeposited material.en_US
