Abstract
dc.description.abstract

Abstract
dc.description.abstract
This degree thesis seeks to analyze the international regulations of Chile and the United States related to scientific research in Antarctica. For this purpose, the regulations of the different agreements that make up the Antarctic Treaty System are reviewed in relation to scientific research, indicating the factors that determined the subscription of these, and the various interests at stake.
Throughout this work, we review the regulations and institutions of Chile and United States related to Antarctica, arriving to conclude that our country has a long way to go, having to adapt and modernize its legislation regarding Antarctica. The United States, for its part, has a fairly structured and encouraged system, particularly through the work carried out by the National Science Foundation.
