Etnografía para proyectos arquitectónicos: Inclusión de la perspectiva del habitante

Abstract

Existen numerosos y relevantes escritos sobre el habitar, pero poco se conoce sobre el habitante en los proyectos arquitectónicos. El objetivo de este artículo es proponer una estrategia metodológica, enfocada a la proyectación de nuevas edificaciones y al análisis de edificaciones existentes, que permita establecer un vínculo entre los habitantes con el contexto donde se ubican los proyectos. Para ello se recurre a la etnografía, como metodología de la antropología que se define por el estudio de la otredad. A partir de ejercicios pedagógicos, se propone una estrategia compuesta por siete pasos: delimitación de la situación etnográfica y emplazamiento del proyecto; reconocimiento del contexto y definición del objetivo de la observación; identificación de tipos de habitantes; selección de lugares, informantes e informantes clave; observación participante y realización de entrevistas etnográficas; registro de información; y elaboración de informes finales escritos y gráficos.

There are numerous and relevant writings about inhabiting, but little is known about the inhabitant in architectural projects. The objective of this article is to propose a methodological strategy, focused on the design of new buildings and the analysis of existing buildings, which allows to establish a link between the inhabitants with the context where the projects are located. Ethnography is used for this, as a methodology of anthropology defined by the study of otherness. Based on pedagogical exercises, a strategy consisting of seven steps is proposed: delimitation of the ethnographic situation and location of the project; context recognition and definition of the objective of the observation; identification of types of inhabitants; selection of places, informants and key informants; participant observation and conducting ethnographic interviews; record of information; and preparation of a report together with synthesis sheets.
