Abstract
dc.description.abstract
The heritage area of the port of Valparaíso includes interesting remains of its’ glorious past, many of which have not been adequately protected and have suffered multiple interventions even ending their disappearance, the case of Simón Bolivar warehouses is one of them. Being these the largest warehouses of its type and time, they were not included in the protected area of the defined World Heritage Site (2003) and only partially included in several Typical Zones nominations [1]. This in addition to its’ attractive location close to the sea border has endangered them in the past including an authorization for demolition. Once dismissed the wreckage, today they are included in a new project which intends to increase the value of Valparaíso’s waterfront. This article reviews the situation related to this heritage.
