Poder, cuerpo y espacio : observaciones sobre el ejercicio biopolítico en el Taller de Arquitectura

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación consiste en analizar los vínculos entre el cuerpo y el espacio en función de las relaciones de poder en el escenario del Taller de Arquitectura de primer año, en dos Instituciones de Educación Superior: La Universidad de Chile y la Universidad Nacional de La Plata en Argentina. A través de un enfoque cualitativo, con miras en la Teoría fundamentada, se realizó observación participante, levantamiento fotográfico y planimétrico. Posteriormente se hizo efectuó un análisis temático de la información recabada de los ocho casos de estudio. De esta forma, se evidenciaron dos categorías que influyen en la ejecución del poder: uno asociado a disposición del mobiliario, y otro correspondiente aspectos organizacionales y administrativos de la universidad. Finalmente, se revisan posturas teóricas que permiten argumentar sobre los hallazgos realizados.

The aim of this research is to analyse the links between the body and space in terms of power relations in the first-year architecture workshop scenario, in two Higher Education Institutions: The University of Chile and the National University of La Plata in Argentina. Through a qualitative approach, based on grounded theory, this investigation conducted participant observation, photographic and planimetric survey. Then, through a thematic analysis, the information collected from the eight case studies provided significant results. In this way, there are two categories that influence the execution of power: one associated with the furniture and objects’ layout inside the workshop, and other corresponding to organisational and administrative aspects of the university. The corollary explains theoretical positions to argue about the findings.
