Constelaciones emocionales en el contexto de protesta: el caso de estudiantes universitarios que participaron en el estallido social chileno

Abstract

Pocos estudios han abordado la investigación del fenómeno de las constelaciones emocionales en el contexto de las acciones colectivas. Este estudio tuvo como propósito identificar las emociones y constelaciones emocionales asociadas a la participación en el marco del estallido social chileno, desde la perspectiva de estudiantes universitarios que participaron de protestas. Se empleó un enfoque cualitativo y la técnica de análisis de contenido categorial, complementada por la codificación teórica en primer y segundo nivel, basándose en entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas a catorce estudiantes de universidades chilenas que participaron activamente en acciones de protesta durante el estallido social. Se identificaron una variedad de emociones positivas y negativas, así como constelaciones emocionales positivas, negativas y ambivalentes en los relatos de los estudiantes entrevistados. Los resultados indican que las emociones y constelaciones emocionales positivas tienden a dirigirse hacia el movimiento social y hacia su propia participación, mientras que las emociones y constelaciones emocionales negativas tienden a dirigirse hacia la represión policial y los poderes político-institucionales. Se destaca la relevancia de las constelaciones ambivalentes al reflejar que la experiencia participativa en la movilización social posee un complejo correlato emocional, caracterizado por la presencia simultánea de emociones positivas y negativas.

Few studies have addressed the research on the phenomenon of emotional constellations in the context of collective actions. This study aimed to identify the emotions and emotional constellations associated with participation in the framework of the Chilean social outbreak, from the perspective of university students that participated in protests. A qualitative approach and the technique of categorical content analysis were employed, based on semi-structured interviews conducted with fourteen students from Chilean universities who actively participated in protest actions during the social outbreak. A variety of positive and negative emotions were identified, as well as positive, negative, and ambivalent emotional constellations, experienced by participants in the context of social protest. The results indicate that positive emotions and positive emotional constellations tend to be directed toward the social movement, other participants, and their own participation, while negative emotions and negative emotional constellations tend to be directed toward police repression and political institutional powers. The relevance of ambivalent constellations is emphasized, reflecting that the experience participating in social mobilization has a complex emotional correlate, characterized by the simultaneous presence of positive and negative emotions.
