Sagrada Mercancía arte contemporáneo 2014-2024 [contribución histórico-crítica sobre un proceso de autogestión curatorial colectiva]

Abstract

Este proyecto de tesis toma como objeto de estudio al colectivo y espacio de arte contemporáneo “Sagrada Mercancía”. La pesquisa intelectual es ambiciosa e intentará dar testimonio historiográfico de la emergencia, desarrollo y sostenimiento de la vida curatorial que ha llevado a este espacio a posicionarse como un lugar reconocido dentro del ecosistema del arte independiente chileno y latinoamericano. Abarcando su trayectoria, las múltiples crisis internas y distintas formas operacionales, este proyecto representa un caso digno de ser expuesto en el complejo territorio reflexivo del sentido político en las prácticas de experimentación colectiva. La metodología de investigación cruza el deseo de inscripción historiográfica con la reflexión estética, para formular la construcción de un concepto: «Autogestión Curatorial Colectiva (A.C.C.)». Este levantamiento conceptual se ofrece como una categoría de trabajo distintiva y clave de acceso para la comprensión crítica del desarrollo interno de Sagrada Mercancía. Así, este documento escritural se constituye como la memoria analítica de los fundamentos políticos, estéticos, éticos y culturales que han dado forma a una estrategia curatorial de sobrevivencia.

This thesis project takes the contemporary art collective and project space "Sagrada Mercancía" as its object of study. The intellectual research is ambitious and attempts to provide historiographical account of the emergence, development, and sustainability of the curatorial life that has led this space to position itself as a landmark within the Chilean and Latin American independent art ecosystem. Covering its history, multiple internal crises, and different operational forms, this project represents a case worthy of presentation in the complex reflective territory of political meaning in collective experimental practices. The research methodology intersects the desire for historiographical inscription with aesthetic reflection to formulate the construction of a concept: «Collective Curatorial Self Management (C.C.S.M.)». This conceptual survey is offered as a distinctive working category and key to critical understanding of Sagrada Mercancía’s internal development.Thus, this scriptural document constitutes the analytical record of the political, aesthetic, ethical, and cultural foundations that have shaped a curatorial strategy of survival.
