Monografía: Implicancias comunicacionales y fisiológicas del vínculo humano-gato

Abstract

El objetivo de la presente revisión bibliográfica fue analizar sistemáticamente la información actualizada de las diferentes investigaciones científicas sobre el vínculo humano-gato y la influencia de esta interacción en la comunicación de los felinos y fisiología de ambas especies implicadas (humano-gato), con el fin de poder aportar al bienestar de los gatos y a mejorar la relación humano-gato. Se realizó una búsqueda utilizando la Biblioteca Digital de la Universidad de Chile y otras plataformas de internet, obteniendo un total de 33 fuentes bibliográficas para su análisis. Con respecto a lo analizado, existe evidencia de que los gatos utilizan diferentes señales sensoriales para comunicarse, creando patrones específicos de comunicación para interactuar específicamente con los humanos. En cuanto a la variación de algunos parámetros fisiológicos, derivados de la interacción humano-gato y efectos beneficiosos, la evidencia disponible es contradictoria. Sin embargo, hay evidencia del aporte emocional y disminución del estrés que aportan los felinos domésticos en la vida de los humanos, como también evidencia de que los gatos necesitan las interacciones sociales y responden positivamente a esta interacción

The objective of the present bibliographic review was to systematically analyze the updated information of the different scientific research on the human-cat bond and the influence of this interaction on feline communication and physiology of both species involved (human-cat), to contribute to the welfare of cats and to improve the human-cat relationship. A search was conducted using the Digital Library of the University of Chile and other internet platforms, obtaining a total of 33 bibliographic sources for analysis. Regarding the analyzed, there is evidence that cats use different sensory signals to communicate, creating specific communication patterns that most of them are used to communicate specifically with humans. There is contradictory evidence on some physiological parameters derived from human-cat interaction. However, there is evidence of the emotional contribution and stress reduction that domestic felines bring to the lives of humans, as well as evidence that cats need social interactions and respond positively to this interaction
