Recent research shows only a weak relationship between these indicators of experience and actual performance observed students. The main emphasis, therefore, should be on the implementation of deliberate practice to acquire better standards in psychomotor skills and improvements in nursing clinical judgment as to recognize, interpret and respond to a patient. For this reason, a quantitative, quasi-experimental research design was performed before and after an intervention of deliberate practice, with four core components, with the aim of evaluating the performance of nursing students who are subjected to simulation practice deliberate on the eighth semester of the nursing career University of San Sebastian. In addition, a qualitative analysis was included, based on in-depth interviews. The sample consisted of 89 students of the eighth semester of nursing at San Sebastián University, with whom we worked with strategies to develop a deliberate practice of their learning and their domains were evaluated before and after this strategy, through a clinical evaluation objective and structured. Likewise eight students participated in in-depth interviews where I investigate motivation during the process of deliberate practice. After analysis it could be deduced that the process of deliberate practice improves student performance, with a difference before and after the process of point 1.0 (95% CI [0.8-1.3], p: 0.000). Feedback perceived by students was higher in those students who received in three opportunities. Regarding motivation, students perceived that it influenced positively on their performance.
