Universities are key institutions for the knowledge and human capital development. Since the second half of the twentieth century, higher education institutions (HEIs) in the world began to define the first courses of action towards international cooperation and to boost strategies that provide opportunities to students, teachers and researchers. The pursuit of incorporating an international and intercultural dimension into student curricula has led to the generation of innovative mobility strategies, such as double degree programs. These programs are more complex to develop because it requires the adoption of the study programs of the two universities involved and, therefore, the participation not only of staff members, but also of the faculty. In this regard, the OECD is one of the international organizations that address topics on higher education, and has studied and designed standards for institutional management about internationalization strategies, such as double degrees. In Latin America, the emergence of these programs is recent and, therefore, the studies regarding their design, application and evaluation are restricted. According to the Internationalization Commission of the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), half of the member universities offer double degree programs; however, data collection for the monitoring and evaluation of these programs is restrictive. Thus, and based on the standards suggested by the OECD for the formulation of double degree programs, this study aims to identify the institutional strategies of the five institutions of the CRUCH with the largest student population and, how they meet the indications addressed by the international organization....
