The objective wich is of this memory is to analyze the feasibility of mining oxidized cooper resources at Rafaela Mine, located in the V region of Chile in the commune of Cabildo currently operating copper sulphide ores to a mining rate of 1500 to 1800 tons per month, labor which currently is not being executed. For this the total present resources and the mining methods are considered. Also two business models are analyzed: the direct selling of the ores to ENAMI and the association with a private plant in which the profits are equally took. The total oxidized cooper ores at Rafaela Mine (proved and inferred) estimated in this work are 2.26 [MMTon] with a grade of 2.12% and sulfuric acid consumption of 11.9 [kgAc/kgCuRec] (202 [kgAc/Ton]). From all the considered mining methods, is concluded that the best methods taking account of the shape of the body, quality of the rock and the present grades are Shrinkage Stoping for vein bodies and Room and Pillar for bedrocks. For this economic evaluation was considered a copper price of 300 [cUS$/lb] a mine cost of 15 [US$/Ton] for bedrocks (Room and Pillar) and 20 [US$/Ton] for vein bodies (Shrinkage), and a cost of sulfuric acid of 82 [US$/TonAc]. From analyzed business alternatives, in the ENAMI option the economic variables shows an utility of 42.16 [MMUS$], total cost of 53.53 [MUS$] with an investment of 10.77 [MMUS$], with wich a NPV of 16.02 [MMUS$], IRR of 55%, the capital return period is 2 [years] and the lifespan is 8 [years] while with the private association the utility is 41.97 [MMUS$], total cost for Rafaela Mine of 39.41 [MMUS$] with an investment of 10.49 [MMUS$], a NPV of 16.21 [MMUS$], IRR of 56%, the capital period return 2 [years] and the lifespan is 8 [years]. Note that in the present scenario the business is not profitable, this is due to the decline in copper prices and also currently the mine cost stands at 30 [US$/Ton] with a mixed operation between Room and Pillar and Shrinkage Stoping and has been proposed that can drop to 15 [US$/Ton] in Room and Pillar and 20 [US $ / Ton] in Shrinkage Stoping. The economic variables studied in this work shows a feasible business but very sensible to factors like acid consumption, cooper price, mine cost and soluble copper grade....
