Since the recognition about the preparation of teaching materials and academic residents performed before their teaching activities not only improve their teaching skills , but also their theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, comes a teaching strategy called "peer learning" in which a student takes the role of teacher and teaches one or more companions. In our Institution - Departamento de Pediatría y Cirugía – Norte de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Chile - there is still no published studies regarding experiences with formal education and thus we believe that this educational approach could be a contribution to clinical teaching in undergraduate. On this basis, we planned and supervised learning activity pairs, VI year students who completed the internship in pediatrics and pediatric surgery medical career between August 2012 and August 2013. In this context, we found it important to know the experience of the principals involved in this training proposal as a strategy that allowed us to understand the meaning of peer learning for undergraduate clinical teaching. To address the problem a qualitative study, based on the interpretive - hermeneutic paradigm, framed in a case study was designed. The data collection instruments were twofold: 1) The researcher adopted the stance of observer - participant, gathered information through Journaling field supported by video -recordings of the activity and 2 ) semi -structured interviews with 14 students who exercised the role of peer tutor . Was carried out the reduction of data and then we realized analysis about subject-matter. The enthusiasm of the students for exercising their teaching role and a strong commitment by the result of peer learning to teach must appear in many publications. The preparation of subject-matter by students in the role of guardian stands out as significantly more intense compared to that usually perform for their other academic duties . This preparation of higher standard is supported by a learning better quality in terms of better organization and understanding of the past in the past and knowledge of meta- cognition. The great weakness of the peer learning methodology has to do with the time required to prepare teaching, as students recognize that due to the large curricular academic pressure would be impossible to carry out a systematic study of such intensity....
