Social interventions developed by civil society organizations in the context of natural disaster usually leave their inmates and their interveners in an environment of crisis and de-structuring of the space of practice that deserves to be questioned in the light of the relevance that these organizations have in the local impact of development strategies. This study aimed to analyze the social intervention developed in the context of the 25M in Atacama by the Fundación para la Superación de la Pobreza, based on the criteria and strategies implemented and the normative and subjective elements of the professionals of the intervention. For this, a methodology composed of group and individual information production devices was used. It was obtained the characterization of the intervention in the term of the criteria of adequacy and the strategies of implementation, of the normative orientations and of the subjects of the professionals involved. In addition, transversal elements that were distinctive of the intervention in the management of the disaster risk were visualized....

The phenomenon of New Rurality derived from the globalization existing in the rural sector of Chile since the early 90s has produced a series of effects and consequences in the different spheres that make up the territory. The case of the community of Santa Cruz, located in the Region of Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins, is analyzed, being part of its rural history and as part of the communities with greater development in recent years. In order to obtain data on the existing changes, the races are published in the area to the population of the commune and interviews with municipal officials obtaining information regarding growth, economic development and migration, topics relevant to the current rural world. In this way it is possible to conclude the consequences of globalization in rural areas and how their effects can transform the landscape and the territory....

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs n-3) have been extensively studied in their contribution to numerous beneficial health effects, mainly associated with cardiovascular health, neurodevelopment, immune and inflammatory-based pathologies, hypertension, dyslipidemias and diabetes mellitus type-2, particularly Eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic (DHA) fatty acids. The largest source of PUFAs n-3 are the marine source, especially fatty or blue fish, but its consumption and availability are less and less today. In this matter, new alternatives to dispose of these nutrients on a daily basis have been developed over the years, which have been aimed at using fishery and aquaculture by-products as sources for the generation of fish oils whose industrialization and improvements in the quality and safety systems have led to the generation of human consumption oils rich in PUFAs n-3, both EPA and DHA, generating economic development poles in the southern Chile. Technological advances and market demands have led to the generation of new products of the type fish oils aimed at improving the quantities of PUFAs n-3 that fish oils in their natural form are capable of offering, which in terms of EPA + DHA rarely exceeds 30-32%. Different forms of fractionation and distillation, processes such as transesterification and use of supercritical fluids have provided alternatives to increase the amount of PUFAs n-3 and even modify its specific location in the triacylglyceride molecule, all associated well with significant losses in the process or investments in technologies and production processes that transfer the costs of research and development to the final product. Among the alternatives that have been known for years and are used to fractionate fatty acids is fractionation by complexing with urea, which is technologically simple to implement, represents lower production costs in relation to other technologies and is environmentally friendly, not to mention which is able to concentrate EPA and DHA fatty acids in an important way. The purpose of this work is to obtain an optimized concentrate of PUFAs n-3 EPA and DHA using urea complexation and using a murine model of obesity to establish whether its supplementation in a dose of 200 mg / kg / day of EPA + DHA for 8 weeks or not it is able to prevent the imbalances of glucose homeostasis that are generated in mice subjected to a high fat diet, comparing its effects against the administration of a salmon oil and a urea complexed concentrate of similar concentration of EPA + DHA, estimating basal glucose, insulin resistance and HOMA. The results indicate that the doses 200 mg / kilo / day of EPA + DHA administered daily for 8 weeks, are not able to prevent imbalances of glucose metabolism either when they were administered in the form of refined salmon oil or as complexed fatty acids and optimized through the use of urea...
