Desempeño en la comprensión del discurso narrativo oral en personas sin trastornos de la comunicación

Abstract

La comprensión del discurso narrativo oral (CDNO) en contextos naturales y en forma de anécdotas cotidianas en personas sin trastornos de la comunicación era un tema hasta ahora no indagado en el ambiente fonoaudiológico. Mediante la creación y aplicación de la Prueba de CDNO, en el presente seminario se pretende buscar valores normativos para la CDNO, teniendo en consideración las variables de edad, escolaridad, comprensión auditiva y rendimiento cognitivo, para analizar el grado de influencia sobre la comprensión discursiva. Se evaluó a 122 sujetos, hombres y mujeres chilenos de 25 a 88 años, sin patología neurológica, diestros y con lengua materna español; distribuidos en 4 grupos según edad, y en 3 niveles según escolaridad. La muestra fue sometida a tres pruebas: Prueba de CDNO, Token Test y Test de Raven, pruebas que permitieron objetivar las variables de CDNO, comprensión auditiva y rendimiento cognitivo, respectivamente. Los resultados indican diferencias significativas en el rendimiento en CDNO, según edad y escolaridad. Se observa que la CDNO se relaciona de forma inversa con la edad y de manera directa con la escolaridad, la comprensión auditiva y el rendimiento cognitivo. Estos hallazgos pueden constituirse como base para futuras investigaciones que profundicen en los procesos de comprensión en contextos cotidianos y funcionales, y en los distintos niveles de complejidad que presenta nuestro instrumento, con el fin de ampliar su uso hacia personas con afasia.

The comprehension of the oral narrative discourse (CDNO) in natural contexts and in the way of daily anecdotes in persons without communication disorders was a no investigated subject in the phonoaudiological field up to now. This seminar proposes the Test of the Comprehension of the Oral Narrative Discourse as a way to evaluate the comprehension of this kind of narrations, considering as variables the age, educational level, auditive comprehension and cognitive performance to analyze their influence over the comprehension of the discourse. 122 persons were evaluated, Chilean men and women between the age of 25 and 88, without any neurological pathology, right handwriting and with spanish as a native language; distributed in 4 groups according to age, and in 3 levels according to educational level. The sample group was exposed to three tests. Comprehension of the Oral Narrative Discourse Test, Token Test and Raven Test, these tests allow to objectivize the CDNO variables, auditive comprehension and cognitive performance respectively. The results indicate important differences in the performance of the CDNO, according to age and educational level. It is observed that the CDNO is related in an inverse way to the age and in a direct way to the educational level, auditive comprehension and cognitive performance. These findings may constitute the basis for future investigations that go further in the process of comprehension in daily and functional contexts, and in the different levels of complexity that our instrument presents with the goal to broaden its use to persons who suffer from aphasia.
