Ciudad contemporánea: territorio de la velocidad Reflexiones sobre el movimiento y el reposo

Abstract

El aumento desenfrenado de la velocidad en nuestras ciudades está alejando al ser humano del reposo, de su territorio, de su lugar. Se abre una reflexión entre diversas dicotomías: eterno y efímero, peregrino y errante, estático y extático, lugar y no-lugar. Y si bien la existencia es la posibilidad de estar fuera de donde se está, se hace necesario revalorizar un equilibrio entre el no-lugar y el lugar, entre el movimiento y la quietud.

The unrestrained increase of speed in our cities is pushing human beings away from quietness, their territory, their place. A reflection between various dichotomies is opened: eternal and ephemeral, pilgrim and roving, static and ecstatic, place and no-place. And though existence is the possibility to be out of where one is, it becomes necessary to revalue a balance between no-place and place, between movement and quietness.
