Sentidos y significaciones del archivo del MEMCH

Abstract

Este artículo trata de los sentidos y significaciones del archivo del MEMCH, el movimiento que, liderado por Elena Caffarena, constituyó el mayor agenciamiento de mujeres en la historia de Chile. La lectura y el análisis de estos documentos los revela como una pieza importante de la escritura de la historia del país, pues significan los procesos y sentidos de la configuración de la mujer moderna del siglo XX.

This article deals with the sense and meaning of the MEMCH's archive, the movement leadered by Elena Caffarena. This movement constitutes the biggest agencement of women in Chilean history. The lecture and analysis of these documents shows them as an important key in the writing of Chilean history because of their significance in the constitution of the contemporary Chilean woman.
