Abstract
dc.description.abstract
Tire antipyretic and antiinflammatory properties of a new sesquiterpene, spartidienedione, isolated from Psila spartioides (Asteraceae) were evaluated in rabbits and guinea pigs. At the dose of 25 mg/kg, this substance showed antipyretic and antiinflammatory activities. Toxicity in mice was determined at the dose of 5.0 g/kg. A description and results of the in vivo study, along with acute toxicity assays are presented.
