Abstract
dc.description.abstract
Experimental studies are made for some selected electronic transitions in Cs2NaY1-xPrxCl6 crystals within the full doping range of the crystal lattice (0 ≤ × ≤ 1). Decay curves are recorded for various temperatures between 15 K and 298 K. The experimental evidence shows the existence of cross-relaxation processes even at the limit of dilution. In this last case, this type of processes would be the result of local heterogeneity in the distribution of Pr3+ ions, as well as due to the presence of defective sites. These results are analyzed in terms of the crystal model, which is applied to electric multipole interactions (dipole-dipole, dipole-quadrupole, and quadrupole-quadrupole).
