(2'E, 6'E, 10'E, 14'E)-2-(8',9'-dione-3', 7', 11', 15'-tetramethylhexadeca-2', 6', 10', 14'-tetraenyl)-6-Methyl-1,4-benzoquinone, (2'E, 6'E, 10'E, 14'E)-2-(8'-one, 15'-formyl-3', 7', 11', trimethylhexadeca-2', 6', 10', 14'-tetraenyl)-6-Methyl-1,4-benzoquinone and sargadiol-I were isolated from the brown alga Desmarestia menziesii. The structures of these metabolites were elucidated by spectral analysis.
