Abstractdc.description.abstractIt is well known that the transmissibility coefficient ( epsilon ) of a spring-mass system is given by epsilon equals (K/M)/((K/M) minus p**2) where K, M and p are respectively the spring rigidity, lumped mass and externally applied frequency. This expression is obtained on the assumption of a mass-less spring. The purpose of this article is to find an expression for epsilon taking into consideration the mass of the spring.
