Abstract
dc.description.abstract
This work describes the activities of German anatomist Max Westenhöfer during the different periods in which he resided in Chile (1908-1911; 1930-1932 and 1948-1957). His contributions to pathology, the reasons for his resign from the University of Chile in 1911 and the main aspects of his hypothesis on the neotenic quality of human evolution are discussed.
