Abstract
dc.description.abstract
One hundred evaluations of weigth/heigth and heigth/age were performed in 23 uremic children (17 under ciatysis treatment and 1 1 ofterenal transplantation) aged 6 to 14 year-old along a seven year follow up. Statistica evaluation of growte cafa is shown as standard deviation score (Z) according to OMS/NCHS growth curves. Uremic chldren showed mean Z scores of -0.37 in weigth/heigth and -2.54 is heigth/age. Mean Z scores were, correspondingly, 0.29 and -1.89 respectively in children under chronic dyalisis and 0.5 and -0.68 after kidney transplantation. Height velocity after kidney transplantation ranged from 28 to 1.51% when expresed as % Z score for the 50 percentile of growth velocity for ecch case. No patient showed catch-up growth after kidney transplantation along 66 months follow-up.
