Abstractdc.description.abstractCrossed testicular ectopia is a low-prevalence entity. It consists of a congenital abnormality in which both testicles are located in the same inguinal cord or scrotal sac with independent irrigation. It may be suspected clinically when an empty unilateral scrotal sac is present in association with an inguinal hernia on the contralateral side. There is an association between congenital defects of the abdominal wall and the presence of an ectopic testis. We present a case of an infant who underwent gastroschisis surgery in the newborn period and had clinical suspicion of an undescended testicle, in whom sonography revealed crossed testicular ectopia. © 2010 by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
