La noción de derechos sexuales y derechos reproductivos en las hablas de hombres y mujeres adolescentes

Abstract

Este artículo analiza cómo los/as adolescentes entienden la noción de derecho, si establecen alguna conexión entre esa noción con la sexualidad y la reproducción, y si fuese así, cómo es que los apropian y vinculan a su propio actuar. Es un estudio cualitativo que recoge, a partir grupos focales, las hablas y experiencias de un grupo de adolescentes de dos comunas de población semirural pertenecientes a la Provincia del Maipo, Región Metropolitana de Chile. Entre los principales hallazgos se reconoce que los/as adolescentes expresan una débil apropiación de sus derechos sexuales y derechos reproductivos, en tanto, se observa una apropiación de la noción de derechos en relación a otras dimensiones de su vida. Asimismo, los padres y la escuela aparecen como los principales legitimadores o no del ejercicio del derecho. Lo anterior muestra que no existirían las condiciones contextuales, culturales e institucionales que favorezcan su apropiación

Abstract: This article review how teenagers understands the notion of rights, if they establish a relationship between this notion and sexuality and reproduction notions, and, if they do, how they understand those concepts and relate them to their own behavior. This qualitative study, uses focus groups to reach to speeches and experiences from a teenagers groups from two different semirural districts belonging to Provincia del Maipo, Región Metropolitana. One of the main discoveries of this research is that teenagers express a weak appropriation of their sexual and reproductive rights, meanwhile, they relate rights to other aspects of their lives. Therefore, parents and schools seem to be the main actors who legitimates or not the exercise of those rights. This reveals that currently there are no contextual, cultural or institutional means forsupporting teenager’s appropriation of these rights
