El hábitat invisible : la construcción del espacio doméstico a partir del uso del mobiliario y los objetos en viviendas sociales

Abstract

La presente investigación analiza el espacio interior de la vivienda social a partir de la relación construida entre la vivienda, el uso del mobiliario y los objetos domésticos y el habitante, estudiando la manera particular de cómo se configura el espacio doméstico al interior de las viviendas, a partir de la relación entre estos factores. El análisis reconoce la forma de habitar de las familias, en distintas temporalidades y situaciones, evidenciando cómo usan realmente el espacio doméstico, qué objetos lo conforman y cuál es la relación físico-espacial que se establece entre el habitante, el mobiliario y los objetos y la vivienda construida, partir de la perspectiva del hábitat residencial. Mediante una metodología cualitativa de investigación, desarrollada entre los años 2015 y 2018, se realizó una aproximación empírica a las prácticas de habitar de una familia en su espacio doméstico cotidiano, documentando sus experiencias mediante fotografías, videos, análisis de planimetrías y modelos tridimensionales a distintas escalas, que dan cuenta de las relaciones espaciales de los habitantes con el espacio construido que habitan. La investigación devela que tanto el mobiliario como los objetos, inciden en la conformación de los espacios de la vivienda social, a partir del desarrollo de las prácticas del habitar, las cuales, son indivisibles del espacio construido y de los habitantes. El reconocimiento de la influencia del mobiliario y los objetos en la conformación de los espacios al interior de la vivienda, busca mejorar la calidad espacial de las viviendas destinadas a las familias vulnerables de Chile. De esta manera, se pretende aportar a la discusión sobre habitabilidad y espacialidad en la vivienda social, visibilizando las prácticas reales que se realizan en ella, incidiendo en una mejor definición y comprensión del espacio doméstico.

The present investigation analyzes the interior space of the social housing from the relation constructed between the house, the use of the furniture and the domestic objects and the inhabitant, studying the particular way of how the domestic space is configured inside the dwellings, from the relationship between these factors. The analysis recognizes the way families live, in different temporalities and situations, evidencing how they actually use the domestic space, what objects make it up and what is the physical-spatial relationship that is established between the inhabitant, furniture and objects and the house built, starting from the perspective of the residential habitat. Through a qualitative research methodology, developed between 2015 and 2018, an empirical approach was made to the practices of inhabiting a family in their daily domestic space, documenting their experiences through photographs, videos, analysis of planimetries and threedimensional models at different scales, which account for the spatial relationships of the inhabitants with the built space they inhabit. The investigation reveals that both the furniture and the objects affect the conformation of the spaces of the social housing, from the development of the practices of inhabiting, which are indivisible from the built space and from the inhabitants. The recognition of the influence of furniture and objects in the conformation of the spaces inside the house, seeks to improve the spatial quality of the houses destined for the vulnerable families of Chile. In this way, it is intended to contribute to the discussion on habitability and spatiality in social housing, making visible the real practices that are carried out in it, focusing on a better definition and understanding of the domestic space.
