La vulnerabilidad de los pueblos indígenas: el impacto de la crisis migratoria en el pueblo aimara de Colchane

Abstract

La situación en Colchane manifiesta una crisis migratoria y sanitaria para la región, donde el alcalde de Colchane Javier García asegura que el número de inmigrantes ha superado a la población residente de Colchane (BBC, 2021), la cual se siente amenazada aumentando así la tensión entre estos dos grupos. Esta situación no ha tenido una solución efectiva ni para los migrantes, ni para los habitantes de la comuna. Colchane, al ser una población mayoritariamente de origen indígena, se ha visto particularmente afectada por el fenómeno, no solo por la crisis misma, sino debido a que las medidas para solucionarla han afectado a sus tradiciones, cultura y transito regular con Pisiga. El propósito de la presente investigación es describir como es que este proceso ha afectado a la población aimara durante los últimos años.

The situation in Colchane shows a migratory and health crisis in the region, where the mayor of Colchane, Javier García, assures that the number of immigrants has surpassed the resident population of Colchane (BBC, 2021), which feels threatened, thus increasing the tension between these two groups. This situation has not had an effective solution for either the migrants or the inhabitants of the commune. Colchane, being a population mostly of indigenous origin, has been particularly affected by the phenomenon, not only because of the crisis itself, but also because the measures to solve it have affected their traditions, culture and regular transit with Pisiga. The purpose of this research is to describe how this process has affected the Aimara population during the last few years.
