Restauración y conservación de tres retratos en pintura sobre lienzo, pertenecientes a finales Siglo XIX y comienzos del XX en Chile

Abstract

La presente memoria presenta el proceso de investigación, reflexión teórica y posterior restauración de tres obras realizadas entre los siglos XIX y XX. Basándonos en la teoría de la restauración propuestas por Cesare Brandi. Se desarrolla la propuesta restauración las tres obras. Dichas obras son retratos hecho en óleo sobre caballete que será el tema guía de la presente memoria. Utilizando la investigación teórica ahondaremos en la significancia del retrato a lo largo de la historia. Se realizará una bajada conceptual y buscará una posible vinculación a nivel de materialidades, estética o técnica en el área de restauración y conservación. Aplicaremos los conocimientos adquiridos en el Curso de especialización en Postítulo para restaurar las pinturas, aspirando a tener el mejor resultado para con éstas.

Through the following thesis report, we present the research process, a theoretical analysis and subseqently the restoration of three oil paintings made between the 19th and 20th centuries. Based on the restoration practices proposed by Cesare Brandi, we will unveil the oil paintings - Portraits done in oil on easel. We will delve into the significance of the portrait across the story using the theoretical research. We will focus the knowledge acquired in the Postgraduate Specialization Course to be able to restore the paintings. Aspiring to have the best result in order to make a conceptual descent and look for a possible connection at the level of material resources, aesthetics or technique in terms of restoration and conservation.
