Redes institucionales en la circulación de obras religiosas de compositores vinculados con la Agrupación Tonus (1955-1967)

Abstract

En esta ponencia se realiza una aproximación a la música religiosa de los compositores que conforman el núcleo institucional de la Agrupación Tonus: Fré Focke (1910-1989), Esteban Eitler (19131960), Eduardo Maturana (1920-2003) y León Schidlowsky (n. 1931). Se define aquí como “obras musicales religiosas” aquellas que en su título o texto —en caso de obras vocales— remiten explícitamente a dicho ámbito. Se destaca la mayor presencia de obras religiosas en el catálogo de Schidlowsky frente a aquellos de los otros tres compositores y se pone énfasis en la importancia de las redes institucionales en el proceso de composición y estreno de estas obras.

This paper presents an approach to the religious music of four composers that constitute the institutional nucleus of the Tonus Group: Fré Focke (1910-1989), Esteban Eitler (1913-1960), Eduardo Maturana (1920-2003) and León Schidlowsky (b. 1931). Here, “religious musical works” are defined as those that in their title or text (in the case of vocal works) refer explicitly to that area. The greater presence of religious works in Schidlowsky's catalog is highlighted compared to those of the other three composers, and emphasis is placed on the importance of institutional networks in the process of composition and premiere of these works.
