Revolución y terror desde la filosofía clásica alemana

Abstract

En este ensayo se analizará el tratamiento que hace la obra de G. W. F. Hegel del reinado del Terror de la Revolución francesa, el cual aparece principalmente en la segunda sección del capítulo VI de la Fenomenología del Espíritu. En dicha sección la Revolución francesa es puesta en el contexto de toda la civilización moderna y se interpreta la lógica interna de aquella, incluido su devenir terrorista, como consecuencia de ciertas características básicas de esta civilización. A lo largo de este trabajo se buscará reconstruir el despliegue que hace Hegel de dichas características y sus consecuencias, relacionándolas tanto con la crítica de Hegel a la filosofía de Immanuel Kant como con el contexto histórico de la Modernidad y la Revolución francesa, tal como éste se presenta a la luz de la investigación historiográfica más reciente

This essay will analyze the treatment that the work of G. W. F. Hegel makes of the reign of Terror of the French Revolution, which appears mainly in the second section of chapter VI of the Phenomenology of Spirit. In this section, the French Revolution is placed in the context of all modern civilization and its internal logic is interpreted, including its terrorist drift, as the consequence of certain basic characteristics of this civilization. Throughout this work, we will seek to reconstruct Hegel's deployment of these characteristics and their consequences, relating them both to Hegel's critique of Immanuel Kant's philosophy and the historical context of Modernity and the French Revolution, as it is presented in the light of more recent historiographical research
