Abstract
dc.description.abstract
This paper shows the scientific contribution of Dr. Rodolfo Lenz, German
scholar, to the knowledge of Mapuche or Mapudungu(n), the main indigenous
language of Chile, and the culture associated with it. His task was therefore
ethnolinguistic, based on data obtained from competent native speakers. More than
a century later, his work is still valid, and its knowledge is mandatory for those
seeking to explore thoroughly the Mapuche culture and language.
