Definición de los conocimientos y habilidades que tributan a la construcción competencias en el área de audiología para la carrera de fonoaudiología en la Universidad de Magallanes

Abstract

En la carrera de Fonoaudiología de la Universidad de Magallanes (UMAG), existen competencias que responden al desempeño esperado en un estudiante. No obstante, no responden a la totalidad de lo que se espera que el alumno consiga al finalizar su formación, especialmente en el área de audiología, la cual debe dar respuesta a avances tecnológicos y políticas públicas nacionales. Dado lo anterior, surge la necesidad de definir habilidades y conocimientos que aporten a la construcción de competencias en el área.

El objetivo de esta investigación, fue establecer los conocimientos y habilidades que tributan a la construcción de competencias en el área de audiología que debe alcanzar un alumno de la carrera de fonoaudiología al concluir su internado en el área; con el fin de ser establecido en el plan de formación de la carrera en la UMAG. En primera instancia, se buscó realizar una revisión bibliográfica de las habilidades y conocimientos que debe adquirir. Posteriormente, se realizó el análisis de una encuesta de habilidades y conocimientos en audiología aplicada a fonoaudiólogos expertos en el área, siendo considerados como la población de estudio y de esta forma se determinaron las habilidades y conocimientos pertinentes según el objetivo del estudio. Dicho estudio se enmarcó en un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño metodológico no experimental y de tipo descriptivo. En cuanto a la obtención de resultados, se realizó un análisis estadístico descriptivo e inferencial, determinando el nivel de significancia de las selecciones mediante la prueba binomial. En relación a lo anterior, destacó la consistencia en respuestas y baja selección de instrumentos de escasa utilidad clínica en el país, así como también, surge la inclusión de terapias basadas en avances tecnológicos actuales. Como conclusión, se observó una mirada real de la actualidad de la audiología y a la vez, se pudieron definir las habilidades y conocimientos que permitirán construir las competencias actuales para aplicar a los programas del área en la UMAG. In the speech and language therapy career at the University of Magallanes (UMAG), there are competencies that respond to the expected performance of a student. The objective of this research is to establish the knowledge and skills that contribute to the construction of competencies in the area of audiology that a student of the speech and language therapy career must reach when completing his internship in the area; in order to be established in the career training plan at UMAG. In the first instance, a bibliographic review of the skills and knowledge that must be acquired is carried out. Subsequently, the analysis of a survey of skills and knowledge in audiology applied to expert speech therapists in the area was performed, being affected as the study population and in this way the related skills and knowledge were determined according to the objective of the study. This study was framed in a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental and descriptive methodological design. In terms of obtaining results, a descriptive and inferential statistical analysis was performed, determining the level of significance of the selections by means of the binomial test. In relation to the above, he highlighted the consistency in responses and low selection of instruments of low clinical utility in the country, as well as the inclusion of therapies based on current technological advances. In conclusion, you will see a real look at the current audiology and at the same time, the skills and knowledge that will develop the current skills to apply the area programs at UMAG will be defined.
