Factores influyentes en el desarrollo del juego de niños y niñas en etapa escolar

Abstract

Introducción: Niños y niñas se desarrollan y otorgan sentido y significado a su vida y a su entorno social a través del juego. Estudios han evidenciado la influencia del entorno sociocultural en esta ocupación, tales como la demanda escolar, el acceso a la tecnología y las actitudes de padres y madres respecto al juego y la vinculación con sus hijos. Este contexto ha promovido una participación en juegos más pasivos donde niños y niñas no median activamente su desarrollo. Es por esto que se plantea como objetivo general describir los factores que influyen en la participación en el juego de niños y niñas entre 6 y 8 años, en Santiago de Chile. Método: Diseño cualitativo, con enfoque fenomenológico. Los resultados se obtienen a través del análisis de entrevistas semiestructuradas a padres y observación de videos de niños y niñas jugando. Resultados: Se realiza un análisis de cuatro categorías, donde se obtienen resultados respecto al contexto en el cual se despliega el juego, así como las diversas temáticas, intereses y expresiones de juego. Además, padres y madres hacen referencia a la tecnología como un factor a considerar, que influye en cómo sus hijos e hijas juegan y las estrategias que han implementado para mediar su uso. Limitaciones: Se reconoce la influencia de la pandemia en los resultados obtenidos, conjunto con la tensión que se produce desde una perspectiva adultocéntrica.

Introduction: Children develop and give meaning, to their daily lives and their social environment, through play. Studies have shown the influence of sociocultural environment on this occupation, just like school demands, access to technology, and parents attitudes regarding play and bonding with their children. The current context has promoted participation in more passive plays where boys and girls do not actively mediate their development. Therefore, the general aim is to describe the factors influencing participation in play of children between 6 and 8 years old, in Santiago de Chile. Methods: Qualitative design, with a phenomenological approach. The results are

obtained through the analysis of semi-structured interviews with parents and video- analysis of children playing.

Results: An analysis of four categories is carried out, where results are obtained regarding the context in which play takes place, as well as the various themes, interests, and expressions during play. In addition, fathers and mothers refer to technology as a factor to consider, which influences how their sons and daughters play, and the strategies they implement to mediate its use. Limitations: The influence of the pandemic on the results obtained is recognized, together with the tension that occurs from an adult-centered perspective.
