Innovación y proyecto abierto

Abstract

Se revisa la expresión de una probable arquitectura abierta, flexible y sujeta a la innovación en dos edificios recientes en el campus San Joaquín de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile: el Centro de Innovación UC – Anacleto Angelini (Alejandro Aravena-Elemental, 2015) y el Edificio de Ciencia y Tecnología de la Escuela de Ingeniería (José Rosas y Philippe Blanc, 2017). El análisis descriptivo de las dos obras permite sostener que la arquitectura abierta y tipológicamente neutra, basada en tipos estables, sugiere mayor potencial de innovación, al entenderse esta como la transformación de la realidad por pequeños incrementos, en lugar de concebirse como la producción de aquello sin precedentes.

A feasible open and flexible architecture, proper to innovation, is reviewed in two recent buildings on the Campus San Joaquín of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile: the UC Innovation Center - Anacleto Angelini (Alejandro Aravena-Elemental, 2015), and the Science and Technology Building of the School of Engineering (José Rosas and Philippe Blanc, 2017). The descriptive analysis of the two works implies that an open and typologically neutral architecture, based on stable types, suggests a superior potential for innovation, since this could be understood as the transformation of reality by small increments, instead of conceiving it as the production of the unprecedented.
