Análisis descriptivo de mallas curriculares de la carrera de Obstetricia en Chile en el año 2023

Abstract

Objetivo: Analizar la composición curricular de la carrera de Obstetricia en las casas de estudio que la imparten, en Chile en el año 2023. Material y método: Estudio observacional descriptivo. Para la ejecución de la investigación se aplicó una pauta de caracterización confeccionada para este estudio. Se recopilaron 25 mallas curriculares de la carrera de obstetricia en Chile en 2023. Resultados: Las universidades que ofrecen la carrera de Obstetricia en un 56% son instituciones privadas. Las sedes en las que se imparte la carrera se concentran en la región Metropolitana con un 37,5% del total. Los cursos contenidos en las mallas curriculares se distribuyen en un 91,68% en los primeros cuatro años de carrera, concentrándose principalmente en las áreas de ciencias básicas, formación general y disciplinar clínico con un 52,12% del total, los pertenecientes a las áreas de obstetricia, ginecología y neonatología corresponden a un 22,84% del total, los teóricos predominan en los primeros 4 años de la carrera y corresponden al 87,52% del total de cursos analizados y los de tipo anual corresponden a un 5,22% del total de cursos. Conclusión: Las mallas de la carrera de obstetricia en Chile en el año 2023 destacan por contener en su mayoría cursos asociados a las áreas de ciencias básicas, formación general y disciplinar clínico. Se observó que los cursos teóricos se destacan en proporción a los de aplicación clínica y los de formato semestral por sobre los anuales.

Objective: The objective of the study was to analyze the curricular composition of the Midwives career in the different universities that teach the degree, in Chile during the year 2023. Material and method: Descriptive observational design. For the execution of the research, a characterization guideline specially prepared for this study was applied. 25 curriculums were collected to carry out the investigation, all of them corresponding to the midwives career. Results: The universities that offer the midwives career in 56% are private institutions. The campuses of these universities are concentrated in the Metropolitan region with 37.5% of the total. The courses contained in the curriculum are distributed in 91.68% in the first four years of the degree, concentrating in the basic sciences, general training and clinical discipline areas with de 52.12% of the total, those belonging to the areas of obstetrics, gynecology and neonatology correspond to 22.84% of the total, the theoretical ones predominate in the first 4 years of the degree and correspond to 87.52% of the total courses analyzed, finally those of an annual type correspond to 5, 22% of the total courses. Conclusion: The courses of the midwives career in Chile in the year 2023 stand out for containing mostly courses associated with the areas of basic sciences, general training and clinical discipline. It was observed that the theoretical courses stand out in proportion to those of clinical application and those of semester format over the annual ones.
