Migración y Salud Mental

Abstract

La siguiente investigación fue realizada con el objetivo de dar a conocer las condiciones que disponen los servicios que trabajan con la población migrante para atenderlos en el área de Salud Mental y Salud Comunitaria, basándonos en el supuesto de que las intervenciones a nivel estatal, así como la información respecto al acceso a estos servicios son escasas, y que dado la complejidad del fenómeno migratorio y su progresivo aumento en Chile, se hacen cada día más necesarias. Para eso se realizaron diversas entrevistas tanto a migrantes, como a profesionales del área de la Salud Mental que se enfocan en esta población, para de esta manera poder conocer desde su propio punto de vista, las posibles carencias existentes en el sistema.

ABSTRACT The following research was conducted in order to raise awareness of the conditions that have services that work with the migrant population to serve them in the area of Mental Health and Community Health, based on the assumption that state-level interventions and information about access to these services are scarce, and that given the complexity of migration and its progressive increase in Chile, it has became increasingly necessary. For this purpose several interviews were made and were conducted to both migrants and to Mental Health professionals whose work focuses on this population, to learn from their own point of view, about the possible shortcomings in the system.
