Abstractdc.description.abstractWe report a case of cutaneous infection and bacteraemia caused by Pasteurella multocida in a 86 years old woman with cirrhosis, after a minor cat bite. Although local infection was minimal, the patient was hospitalized due to high fever and hypotension. Incubation period was less than 24 hours. She recovered completely with ampicillin-sulbactam therapy. This case underlines the risk of severe zoonotic infections caused by domestic animals in patients with liver cirrhosis.es_CL
