Anodic polarographic determination of flucloxacillin
Author
Abstract
The hydrolysis of flucloxacillin at pH 4.9 yields a degradation product which is polarographically oxidizable. This derivative has not been identified, but would seem to contain a thiol group. It gives a diffusion-controlled anodic polarographic wave with a half-wave potential at -0.24 V vs. SCE. The method developed has been applied to the analysis of flucloxacillin capsules, and a recovery of 99% has been obtained. © 1981.
