Abstractdc.description.abstractWE wish to report a new method with which we have been able to measure the sodium and potassium conductance changes postulated by Hodgkin and Huxley1 in the course of a single action potential. To measure the membrane conductance at any desired time during the course of the action potential, we have designed a membrane potential control system which can be turned on and off quickly with an electronic switch. © 1970 Nature Publishing Group.
