Abstractdc.description.abstractThe aerial parts of Gypothamnium pinifolium afforded, in addition to three known 5-methyl coumarins, four new 5-methyl coumarins and two closely related coumaranones. Furthermore, seven diterpenes, all derived from ent-labda-8,13-diene-15-ol, were isolated. The aerial parts of Plazia daphnoides gave large amounts of 5-methyl coumarins, kolavenol, flavanoids and 9-acetoxycapric acid. The structures were elucidated by high field NMR techniques. The chemotaxonomic relevance of the 5-methyl coumarins is discussed. © 1988.
