Abstractdc.description.abstractWe study all-optical switching based on the dynamic properties of discrete vector solitons in waveguide arrays. We employ the concept of polarization mode instability and demonstrate simultaneous switching and amplification of a weak signal by a strong pump of the opposite polarization. © 2004 Optical Society of America.
