Estrategias de poder en la producción social del hábitat : análisis de caso Cooperativa de Vivienda Yungay

Abstract

La presente investigación analiza el caso de la Cooperativa de Vivienda Yungay, constituida, en el año 2014, como una herramienta de lucha no solo para solucionar una necesidad habitacional, sino que, además, para promover, por una parte, experiencias de construcción del hábitat con autogestión y relaciones cooperativistas y, por otra, para permitir la permanencia de sus miembros en un área determinada y de alto valor como es el Barrio Yungay, en la Comuna de Santiago. Desde la perspectiva de esta investigación, el cooperativismo de vivienda constituye una Estrategia de Poder en tanto son procesos llevados por los mismos habitantes para la construcción de un hábitat residencial fuera de la lógica mercantil. Los habitantes tienen Poder cuando son capaces de producir su propia vida, cuando pueden controlar aspectos como la producción de su vivienda, de su alimento, energía y trabajo; cuando se tornan productores autónomos de riqueza, conocimiento y cooperación. En este sentido, una Cooperativa es una estrategia de Poder en tanto constituye una asociación autónoma de personas que se han unido voluntariamente, para hacer frente a sus necesidades económicas, sociales y culturales comunes, por medio de una empresa de propiedad colectiva y democráticamente manejada1. A propósito de esta idea, se analiza el caso de la CVY, instrumentalmente, para indagar en la temática de las Estrategias de Poder. Dado estos antecedentes, y en el contexto de una producción habitacional regulada por el mercado, lo que se pretende responder es: ¿Desarrolla la Cooperativa de Vivienda Yungay Estrategias de Poder necesarias para la producción de un hábitat residencial por fuera de la lógica mercantil?

The present investigation analyzes how the Yungay Housing Cooperative develops strategies to respond to their housing needs and build spaces with more supportive ways of life. From the hypothesis of this research, these strategies of cooperativism constitute forms of Power as they are produced by the inhabitants for the construction of a residential habitat outside the commercial logic. From the perspective of this research, the inhabitants have Power when they are capable of producing their own life, when they can control aspects such as the production of their home, their food, energy and work; when they become autonomous producers of wealth, knowledge and cooperation. In this sense, a Cooperative is a form of Power as an autonomous association of people who have joined voluntarily, to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs, through a company owned collectively and democratically managed. Thus, in 2014, the Yungay Housing Cooperative emerged as a fighting tool, not only to solve a housing need, but also to promote, on one hand, housing and habitat construction experiences with self-management and cooperative relations and, on the other, to allow the permanence of its members in a certain area of high value such as Barrio Yungay, in Santiago. Given these antecedents and in the context of a housing production model regulated by the market, ¿Do the Yungay Cooperative develop strategies of Power necessary for the development of a residential habitat outside the commercial logic?
