El giro de la política exterior de Arabia Saudita frente a Irán, la Guerra en Yemen y otros factores para una nueva inserción internacional

Abstract

La relación entre Arabia Saudita e Irán ha estado marcada por un constante antagonismo de intereses e influencias hacia otros países en la región, esto ha llevado a varios momentos de tensiones y hostilidades en las últimas décadas siendo la Guerra en Yemen uno de los hitos de mayor tensión entre estos, sin embargo al encontrarse en un proceso de modernización y reformas para potenciar su inserción internacional Arabia Saudita y el Príncipe Heredero Mohamed Bin Salman principalmente ha decidido iniciar instancias de diálogo con Irán con un mayor grado de compromiso a lo que se había intentado antes, dando así el inicio a un fenómeno que podría cambiar la forma de relacionarse entre los países de la Región de Medio Oriente.

The relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran has been marked by a constant antagonism of interests and influences towards other countries in the region, this has led to several moments of tensions and hostilities in the last decades, being the War in Yemen one of the milestones of greatest tension between them, however, finding itself in a process of modernization and reforms to enhance its international insertion, Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman have mainly decided to initiate dialogue with Iran with a greater degree of commitment than what had been attempted before, thus starting a phenomenon that could change the way of relating to the countries of the Middle East Region.
