The experience in vocational training has been judged by the length of the curricula, the mastery of knowledge and perceived ability. Recent research shows only a weak relationship between these indicators of experience and actual performance observed students. The main emphasis, therefore, should be on the implementation of deliberate practice to acquire better standards in psychomotor skills and improvements in nursing clinical judgment as to recognize, interpret and respond to a patient. For this reason, a quantitative, quasi-experimental research design was performed before and after an intervention of deliberate practice, with four core components, with the aim of evaluating the performance of nursing students who are subjected to simulation practice deliberate on the eighth semester of the nursing career University of San Sebastian. In addition, a qualitative analysis was included, based on in-depth interviews. The sample consisted of 89 students of the eighth semester of nursing at San Sebastián University, with whom we worked with strategies to develop a deliberate practice of their learning and their domains were evaluated before and after this strategy, through a clinical evaluation objective and structured. Likewise eight students participated in in-depth interviews where I investigate motivation during the process of deliberate practice. After analysis it could be deduced that the process of deliberate practice improves student performance, with a difference before and after the process of point 1.0 (95% CI [0.8-1.3], p: 0.000). Feedback perceived by students was higher in those students who received in three opportunities. Regarding motivation, students perceived that it influenced positively on their performance. Finally deliberate practice proved effective performance in the domains of learning nursing students....

Medication errors (ME) are among the most common types of medical errors, representing 19% of adverse events in hospitalized patients. Due to the high flow of patients, lack of prior medical history, history of allergies and chronic use of drugs, in addition to stressful situations and frequency of verbal orders, among other factors, the emergency department (ED) are highly vulnerable the occurrence of these errors. Considering that ME are preventable events and can occur during any phase of the Medication Use System (MUS), it is necessary to establish strategies to prevent its occurrence and improve the safety and quality of care in health services The objective of this study was to design and implement interventions to prevent ME in Emergency Department (ED) of a university hospital. Prospective intervention study was conducted in 3 stages. In the first stage of the study literature review and parallel observation of the MUS of ED was performed to detect failures. Feasible strategies implemented in the service were reviewed and selected by a multidisciplinary team, to finally be developed and implemented by a student of pharmacy. Of literature 21 study that had no technological or mixed interventions likely to be implemented, plus 3 studies on electronic prescribing with decision support were selected. Among the strategy found in the literature were selected 13, which applied to more than one stage of MUS, allowed 17 non-technological strategies implemented over a period of 12 weeks. This study helped to show that it is possible to implement an intervention program to prevent ME in a ED, however further studies are needed to evaluate the impact of these measures in clinical practice and whether it will be able to increase the safe use of medicines...
