Attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) is characterized by a triad of symptoms: impulsiveness, inattention and hyperactivity; it is also the main reason for consultation in psychiatric and child mental health services during school age in our country. Research indicates that the causes of ADHD are mainly due to executive functions problems, essential for the development of psycholinguistic abilities; but the relationship between these skills and ADHD has not been exhaustively studied in the speech language therapy field. For this reason, the purpose of the present study is to characterize a psycholinguistic profile of children with ADHD and compare it with a profile of children without ADHD and typical language development, using the Illinois Test of Psycholinguistic Abilities (ITPA). For that purpose, 17 children of the study group and 17 children of the comparison group, from 6 years to 9 years and 11 months, were evaluated. All children attend regular schools in the Metropolitan Region. The results show that the children of the study group obtained lower results than the comparison group, based on the medians in 5 of the 10 subtests of the ITPA, presenting only significant differences in the auditory association item. In terms of general performance, the ADHD group showed results slightly inferior to the comparison group. It is concluded from this research that psycholinguistic abilities in children with ADHD do not differ greatly from those of children without ADHD and typical language development or the norm set by the ITPA....

The Dyspraxia in our country is a little-researched, under-diagnosed and often considered only a minor problem, although it brings considerable impact on the life of the child who suffers. According to international numbers affects 5-6% of school age population. This research evaluated the performance of 57 schoolchildren, aged 8 to 12 years, of a mixed school of high socioeconomic level of Santiago, in the Motor Scale Battery Luria-Nebraska Neuropsychological - Child Review for determine the prevalence of "risk of dyspraxia". Was defined as such when the child's performance exceeds 10 points in the sum of the scores on the Motor Scale of the battery. We compared the "risk of dyspraxia" according to age group and sex. The main finding was a high "risk of dyspraxia" in the sample studied. There were no significant differences by age or sex. The determination of "risk of dyspraxia" with this battery is a screening, to diagnose dyspraxia itself, clinical evaluations must be made for each child. The approach to dyspraxic children at risk or it may be an important field of work in Kinesiology....

The Specific Language Impairment (SLI) affects 5 to 7% of children of children who may have difficulties in the different language dimensions. Currently there are numerous studies that investigate the performance of these children in narrative discourse, but few of them refer to the characteristics of their conversational speech. That is why the purpose of this research seminar is to contribute to the knowledge of morphosyntactic performance in the conversational speech of children with 6 year-old SLI children attending to local education with school integration project. The population of this research consists of 13 children with SLI of 6 years-old, 13 children with TLD of 6 years-old and 13 with TLD 4 years. The grammar production in conversational speech for these groups was evaluated through the analysis of language corpus collected from a previous study. In these samples the number of unimember sentences, bimember simple/complex and grammatical/ungrammatical sentences was identified. The results showed that children with SLI behave similarly to the 4 and 6 year-old children of the TLD group, except in the use of unimember sentences, where children with this disorder produce significantly more of them....

Our aim was to an alyze referential cohesion mechanisms (RCM) used in narratives of three stories by childrens with Specific Language Impairment (SLI) and Typical Language Development (TLD). The sample was randomly composed according to the children's category, for SLI (25 participants) and TLD (25 participants), all of them between the ages of 6 and 7 years old attending integrational schools of a middle-low socioeconomic level in Santiago, Chile. RCM presence was analyzed in the narrative corpus obtained from three stories re-counting. The data was analyzed with "R", a free software tool for statistical computing and creating graphs. The results showed no statistically significant differences in the behavior of both groups, nonetheless, (SLI or TLD) childrens demonstrated RCM differences in subordinate sentences. TEL infant’s morphosyntactical difficulties would impact the use of RCM....
