Stereoselective synthesis of dodecaammine-i-hexoltetracobalt(III) in carbohydrates solution

Abstract

Reaction between cis-[Co(NH3)(H2O)(2)](3-) and ammonia in aqueous solution, in the presence of a carbohydrate, leads to the formation of the tetranuclear complex of cobalt (III): [Co-4(NH3)(12)(OH)(6)](6+) partially resolved. The degree of resolution depends on the nature of the carbohydartes used.
