Abstract
The structure and magnetic properties of two hybrid VPO compounds [(Cu(2)bipy(2))(2)V4O11(PO4)(2)]center dot 5H(2)0 1 and [Cu(2)phen(2)(O3PCH2PO3)(V2O5)(H2O)] center dot H2O 2 are reported. The magnetic behaviour of compound I can be described with the DFT calculated magnetic exchange constants, J(1) = +4.93 cm(-1), J(2) = -0.63 cm(-1), J(3) = -24.2 cm(-1). Compound 2 presents intradimeric antiferromagnetism with J(1) = -30 cm(-1), and interdimeric antiferromagnetism with J(2) = -8.5 cm(-1).
