La genioplastía funcional en los síndromes de exceso vertical anterior de la cara (casos clínicos)

Abstract

Functional genioplasty is an ostetomy of the chin, that reduces the lowest facial height in case of long face sindromes and establishes the labio-mental function, allowing to get both functional and aesthetic results. The surgical technique involves the creation of a tenon and mortise that keeps the insertion of labio-mental and some suprahyoid muscle, improving also stability. This advance and elevation of the chin improves the shape and osteo-mio-cutaneos stability of the inferior stage of the face.
