The treatment of β- and γ-cyclodextrins with the half-sandwich complexes of iron, afford the inclusion compounds CpFe(L2)A-CD (β and γ) (A = Cl, I), L2 = dppe, (CO)2, dppe = Ph2P(CH2)2PPh2, [CpFe(L2)L]PF6·CD (β- and γ-) L' = neutral donor ligands and [(CpFe(dppe))2-μ-CN]PF6·2CD (β and γ-)- The inclusion compounds [CpFe(dppe)NCCH3]PF6 · γ-CD and [CpFe(dppe)(η1-dppm)]PF6·γ-CD present a laminar structure.
