Estimación de edad y crecimiento de Cynoscion analis (Jenyns,1842) (Teleostei; Scianidae) mediante lectura de otolitos

Abstract

Conocer los parámetros de crecimiento de las especies comerciales o de consumo humano directo, puede ser esencial para aplicar criterios de políticas de extracción que permitan asegurar la mantención de las densidades poblacionales y de esta forma asegurar la sustentabilidad de un determinado recurso. En este contexto, se entregan los resultados de un estudio de edad y crecimiento de la especie Cynoscion analis, Jenyns 1842 (ayanque), basado en la lectura de anillos anuales de crecimiento en los otolitos sagitales. Se analizaron 359 pares de otolitos saculares, que corresponden a muestras de ejemplares recolectados mensualmente durante 2003, a partir de las capturas realizadas por la flota artesanal con base en el puerto de Arica, Chile. a Las longitudes totales de los ejemplares fluctuaron entre 23 a 39cm en machos y 23,5 48,5cm en hembras. Con el fin de determinar algunas variables de crecimiento se aplicó el modelo de von Bertalanffy, utilizándose los datos de longitud y peso. Los parámetros de crecimiento fueron estimados empleando en forma separada las longitudes y pesos actuales como los retrocalculados a las distintas edades. La comparación de los parámetros de crecimiento de ambos sexos mostró la existencia de diferencias significativas entre ellos, por lo cual el crecimiento en longitud y en peso debe ser expresado en forma independiente según sexo, por las siguientes ecuaciones: Edad actual Machos: Lt = 39,62 [ 1-e -(0,167+ 2,153) Hembras: Lt = 53,02 [ 1-e-(0.097+2.685)

The knowledge of growth parameters from commercial or direct human consumption species, it can be essential to apply approaches of political extraction to make that allow to assure preserved the population densities and this way to assure the sustainability of a certain recourse. In this context, surrender the results of age study and growth of the specie Cynoscion analis, Jenyns 1842 (ayque), based on the reading of annual rings of growth in the sagital otholits. 359 couples of sacular otholits were analyzed correspond to samples of monthly collects throughout 2003, starting from the catchs carried out by the handmade fleet establishment in the Arica's port, Chile. The total length of specimen fluctuated among 23 at 39cm in males and 23.5 at 48.5cm in females. With the purpose of determining some growth parameters, the von Bertalanffy pattern was applied, being used the data of lengths and ages. The growth parameters were estimates using in separate form the longitude as well as the retro calculated parameters at different ages. The comparison of the parameters of growth for both sexes showed the existence of significant differences among the, reason why the growth in lenght should be independent as it is stated on the following equations: Current age Males: Lt = 39.62 [1-e (0.167 + 2.153)] Females: Lt = 53.02 [1-e (0.097 + 2.685)
